Is there a surcharge ?
There is no charge if you are covered by ACC – ACC pay for your treatment in full.
Do I need a referral from a doctor ?
Referrals are not necessary –you can refer yourself – however please bring along any information you have about your condition.
What information should I bring to my appointment?
X-ray/MRI /Ultrasound reports, Details of your claim ACC 45 number and Date of injury if already registered.
What if I have an injury at work?
You need to report your injury to your employer or Health and Safety officer
You may need to seek approval for Hand Therapy treatment if your company use a different insurer eg Gallagher Bassett / Work AON / Well NZ.
Can you refer me for an xray?
Yes we can refer you for an Xray which will be interpreted by a radiologist.
Do you do physiotherapy?
Yes Hand Therapy is a specialist practice of physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
Is parking available?
ONEHUNGA: Parking is permitted on the roadside outside the clinic on Church St . There is some parking available at the rear of the building. Please DO NOT PARK IN THE DRIVEWAY as this blocks others access
PAPATOETOE: Parking is available in St George St outside the Health Hub. The best place to park is in the NEW WORLD carpark at the rear of the Health Hub.
How long are your appointments?
Appointments generally take 30 minutes unless scheduled otherwise.
Are you opened on weekends?
Sorry no we don’t open on weekends however we will do our best to schedule you in between 8am and 6.30pm Monday –Friday.
Can you generate ACC claims?
Yes we can generate claims for straightforward injuries to the elbow wrist and hand.
Can you write certificates for time off work?
Sorry NO this must be done by your doctor.
How much are your private charges?
$95 for initial assessment/treatment $75 for follow up appointments
